(3-0-1) Baberaham Lincoln took 3rd and won $20 credit.(3-1) Lionheart took 4th and $20 Credit (2-1-1) Lionheart lost the Epic game 3 vs The immoveable Object in the 4th and Final round at table 1 the Feature Match. Had Lionheart pulled off the Upset, we would have had what would have been a Controversial tie for 1st between El Demoledor and Lionheart) The Final Boss took 5th and $20 Credit (2-2) Magic Mike (The Reigning Champion During Summer Slam)lost to The Immoveable object in an Epic match at table 1 during the feature match in round 3. In the 4th and Final Round was a Grudge Match Between Baberaham Lincoln and Magic Mike the Reigning Champion. Nothing went the Champs way and Sarah Baberaham Lincoln won handily 2-0. We sold out.
Yes, it is a good problem to have. But pre release events are the bread and butter that keep Small Local Game Stores in business. The 80 pre release kits just paid for our sign. Our sign is the last of several one time start up costs. Had we had more kits we could have possibly broken even in our 3rd month. It was bitter sweet and I e-mailed Wizards of the Coast a list of 18 players that were denied the joy of prerelease by our limited allocation. The prerelease went smoothly and we sold all 38 of our booster boxes and I used the extra 2 boxes (we got 40 booster boxes to sell at prerelease) to properly prize out our events. All stores got shorted 4 packs per 20 kits in prize payout with this set. Getting 80 kits we were shorted 16 payout packs. We prized out heavily in our Saturday night 2 headed giant. By the time that our Sunday event had ended, all of our extra packs were used. I even sold 2 players 6 boosters packs with no kit just so they could play on Sunday our our list would have had 2 more players on it. The players were happy with the events and the payouts. Hopefully the next pre release we will get over 100 kits. Our customer base is growing daily and in 3 momths 100 kits will not be enough. |
